Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it can raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a set amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its stats improve in value. This value is the total of all the leveled up advantages (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades to items can be costly, depending on the upgrader and what type of upgrade you choose to do. This is due to the variety of perks that have to be altered to upgrade an Best item upgrade.

It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players can use since PvP is not available at a lower level. Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.

Using the item level can help players evaluate the potency of gear when they decide to buy or sell. It's a measure of the item's condition and its quality. Comparing items from the inventory of a vendor can be done by using the level of the item.

The item level can be seen by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including ilvl. It can also be found by hovering an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are a few theories on how the calculation of the item's level is done. One theory states that the level of an item is calculated using a formula that calculates the value of an item's stats actually are. It considers that different benefits are valued differently and that gems found in sockets boost the value of the item. This process could result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

This is not the only factor that influences the ilvl of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped may change its stats. For example it can increase the item's haste or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more the ilvl than items from lower level instances.

Item Stats

The item's stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses them in many ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to motivate players to explore other weapons. The stat mods on a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's level.

The upgrades to an item can increase the stats of an item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. An item that is white or grey, for example, will only be upgraded once, while an item with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at more expensive costs.

Another way to change the stats on an item is to use affixes. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item upgrading. Affixes can do things like give the item extra damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or cutting down the cooldowns), or make the Item Upgrade, Infozillon.Com, unique by giving a special name to the item.

All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount in gold and items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges similar to other methods of rerolling.

Players can upgrade an item with specific stats or reroll affixes. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However, all items will include at least one stat in the same range, unless it's a unique item or the item is a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could change is the option to upgrade equipment without having to roll the attaches, or select which stats to boost. However, as with the base equipment, this would have to be performed on a per-item level, and the interface for item comparison will not show all the stats that could be that were gained or lost at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the likelihood of item discoveries and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the strength of these properties. It does not, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players a chance to upgrade their equipment in earlier waves, and is therefore more useful in early game runs as opposed to later ones, since most players prefer higher weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading, which increases with each level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to add another 40 luck or to boost an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Furthermore some items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items are available at the store, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are a costly process and not every upgrade will be successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of completing the upgrade successfully and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to the extent to which success rates can be increased and the chance of an upgrade failing cannot exceed 100%..

The performance of an can be affected by the luck of the item. Each item has an average success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases that chance by five percent.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the items in the inventory, so enchantment glint and other effects could be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
